KTNA App Update: Refined Experience & Enhanced Reliability
We’ve just rolled out a significant update to the KTNA mobile app to ensure a smoother, more premium experience for every listener.
Here’s what’s new:
- Liquid Glass Navigation: We’ve completely overhauled the bottom navigation bar. Adopting Apple’s "Liquid Glass" design standard, the new interface is a floating, translucent capsule that offers a more modern, integrated feel. It’s cleaner, more responsive, and designed to make your browsing experience feel fluid.
- Android Performance Boost: We’ve resolved the technical hurdles that were affecting dark mode and background media controls on Android devices.
- Reliable Dark Mode: The app now intelligently synchronizes with your device’s system theme, ensuring that the interface always matches your phone's look and feel, regardless of OS variations.
- Robust Background Audio: We’ve upgraded how the app manages audio playback. Your listening session is now much more stable when you switch apps or lock your screen, ensuring your media controls stay active and your stream doesn't drop unexpectedly.
- API & Data Foundation Upgrades: Behind the scenes, we’ve performed a complete architectural refresh of our data connections to both Ghost (for news and shows) and our community calendar. We’ve fine-tuned the data formatting and payload structure for these APIs, resulting in faster load times, more accurate content delivery, and a seamless submission experience for community events.
- New Schedule Page: We have implemented a new schedule page in the app so that listeners can find the show schedule directly.
- Redesigned In-app Media Player: The media player has been completely redesigned with smoother logic, a new liquid glass aesthetic, and improved animations to ensure a better, more accessible experience.
These updates are all about reliability and design polish—ensuring that the KTNA app is as beautiful and dependable as the community it serves.
Just open the app and take it for a spin!
CORRECTION: Android users will have to update the app via the Play Store to receive the performance-related update. The update for Android will be released soon, as we are currently awaiting app approval. iOS users will not need an update.
