KTNA's DJs share their enthusiasm

January 17th 2023 was KTNA’s 30th anniversary of being on-air. This seemed like a good time to reflect on the station’s beginnings, progress and the people who have contributed over the years. The DJs are a big part of what makes KTNA unique. Program Director Christie Seay interviewed KTNA’s DJs asking them several questions so you can get to know them better. Some of the DJs were there from the beginning such as Kathleen Fleming and Holly Stinson. Renamary Rauchenstein, Joe Richardson and Becky Peterson have also been around for a long time starting in the log cabin studio located across the street from the current station. Some DJs have left and returned years later like Corinne Smith and Paul Button.

When asked how she got started at KTNA. Renamary, host of Music That Makes Me Happy, shared this story.

DJs were also asked what they like about hosting a music show.  Reasons include sharing the music they love, helping musicians get their music out there, and contributing to the community. Paul, the host of Hits & Misses, gives a good reason he likes doing his music show. It’s fun.

DJs were asked about their favorite memories. There were some great stories. Holly Stinson’s occurred during a significant time in KTNA’s history, when, in 2002, the station moved from the cabin studio to the current location across the street.

KTNA is always looking for ways to attract new volunteers. When asked what they would say to someone thinking about becoming an on-air volunteer, there was lots of encouragement.
