Longtime Talkeetna resident Curt Wagner dies

Longtime Talkeetna and Trapper Creek resident Curt Wagner died quietly Monday morning at Mat Su Regional Hospital. He would have been 88 years old on August 18th.

Wagner was born in Anchorage in 1922 and came to the upper valley in 1948.

His oil paintings can be seen in state buildings across the state, in the Fairview Inn and other local buildings and homes in the upper valley.  Curt was the featured artist at the Fireweed Arts Festival  in Trapper Creek this past weekend.

Wagner, well known for his artistic talent and story telling abilities, had not been feeling well for a couple of weeks.  He was transported to Mat Su Regional, where many of his closest friends were able to visit him over the past week or so.

His good friend Carolyn Reitter  was at his side when he passed away.

Memorial services are pending.  Curt will be buried in the Talkeetna cemetery.
