On Friday afternoon, troopers reported that a man died in a plane crash at the end of the Susitna Landing Road . Around 2 p.m., a witness saw the Piper PA-18 clip the trees before crashing into trees near Susitna Landing Road. Responding troopers found the sole male occupant dead inside. The National Transportation Safety Board and the State Medical Examiner have been notified. NTSB takes over the investigation to determine the cause of the crash. The name of the man has not been released yet.
Update – Neal Burgess Burleson, 58, of Willow, was the sole occupant of the plane. He died when his Piper PA-18 Super Cub crashed at the end of Susitna Landing Road north of Willow.
