This Friday, the Mat-Su Borough Assembly is holding a special meeting in Willow to discuss the upcoming borough budget. The format is set up similarly to a regular Assembly meeting. The biggest difference is that there is only one major agenda item, the budget ordinance. According to the Mat-Su Borough Clerk’s office, any local resident who wishes to can speak for three minutes during public hearings on the budget.
In addition, an Audience Participation section is on the agenda. That is the portion of borough meetings where residents can speak to the Assembly on any topic they like within a three minute time limit. On Monday, the Borough Clerk’s office confirmed that those speakers will not be limited to speaking exclusively on the budget. The meeting is scheduled for 6:00 pm at the Willow Community Center.
