Talkeetna Sewer and Water customers may soon be paying double. There will be no percentage increase – – it’s a flat rate across the board for both commercial and residential customers. At the same time there seems to be a question as to accounting accuracy at the Mat Su Borough. Borough finance staff was unable to clearly explain a $100,000 deficit (the reason for the sudden huge rate hike) to local accountants that questioned expenses and loans.
