Troopers and Mat Su rescue teams recovered the body of a man buried while he was working on the Goose Creek Correctional facility project.
Troopers and Mat Su rescue teams recovered the body of a man buried while he was working on the Goose Creek Correctional facility project. 46 year old Steven Ziegler was killed after buried in debris on Thursday morning as he was working on a water well. The project was located at Point MacKenzie Road and Reddane Avenue. It was part of the new correctional facility being built at Port MacKenzie.
Workers used heavy equipment throughout the afternoon to try and recover the body. Troopers do not know whether Zeigler was killed immediately in the crush of dirt.
Zeigler, a Palmer resident, was employed by Prosser Dagg construction.
