Matanuska Electric Association says a fallen tree caused Monday afternoon’s power outage in Talkeetna, Trapper Creek, and parts of Caswell.
The outage, which began shortly after noon, affected more than 1,700 MEA members. A crew began searching for the cause, and found a tree on the line. The tree, reportedly a cottonwood, fell on a transmission line. Transmission line outages tend to be larger than distribution line outages.
Power was fully restored sometime shortly after 2:30 pm. If anyone in the area is without power, they can contact MEA using their app or by calling 746-7697.
