In business news this month, several businesses in and near downtown Talkeetna are for sale.

Café Michele, a long-standing 5-star restaurant at the edge of downtown Talkeetna is now on the market and listed with Talkeetna Real Estate.

Swiss Alaska has been on the market for the past couple of years, but co-owner Renamary Rauchenstein says they will continue with their business as usual until a buyer comes along. The Swiss is the largest retail property in downtown and east Talkeetna with a total 5 acres.

Hudson Air has been on the market off and on for a couple of years, but according to their pilot Jok Bonderant, the family has not received an offer that is sufficient.  The 60 year old family business has a world wide reputation.

There is a new backpacking adventure this summer on the south side of Denali National Park. Alaska Alpine Adventures has a commercial use permit with Denali Park to provide a 10 day backpacking trip at the Ruth Glacier and Backside Lake. The 35-mile trip includes a round trip train ride from Anchorage and the round trip flight to the lake.
