The Montana Creek Dog breeder facing charges of animal cruelty returned to court Friday. Frank Rich appeared at the Palmer Courthouse for a change of plea hearing. According to the Mat Su Frontiersman, Rich backed out of a plea agreement and opted instead to go to trial on charges of 50 counts of animal cruelty.
More than 150 malnourished dogs were confiscated from Rich’s property in early January from his property. Rich had another 22 dogs on his property that had died from either starvation or freezing.
A pre-trial hearing is scheduled for January 12th.
