On Monday, Denali National Park and Preserve announced opening dates for the 2014 season.
The Denali Park Road will be open for private vehicles up to the Teklanika River Rest area until May 19th. The park’s shuttle buses will start operating the next day. At that time, private vehicles will have to stop near Mile 15 of the Park Road. The buses will be able to venture further into the park as weather continues to warm, and the National Park Service estimates that the entire ninety-two mile road will be open to buses by June 8th.
Most park facilities will open on Thursday, May 15th, including the main visitor center.
