The trial for Timothy Myers that was set to begin on January 6 has been postponed to a later date.Myers is accused of assaulting and recklessly injuring a local woman in Talkeetna on October 31, 2010. He is charged with assault, property damage, drunk driving and possession of a controlled substance.
The state prosecutor Shawn Traini said that the trial date was moved because Myers has a new lawyer with the Office of Public Advocacy who wants to first familiarize himself with the case. Bail conditions were set to $2500 cash and a third party custodian. The court clerk said that the court has not yet approved a third party custodian and that Myers is still in custody at the Mat-Su Pretrial facility.
The trial is scheduled to begin on January 21 at 10:30 a.m. at the Palmer court.
