An Alaska States Park planning team is taking an extra step in the Nancy Lakes Management planning process to receive more public comment.

An Alaska States Park planning team is taking an extra step in the Nancy Lakes Management planning process to receive more public comment.

Chuck Pinckney is the contact for the planning process and says that the planning team is trying to recover and pick up the pieces as team leader, Brandon McCutcheon, left the position and has moved to Alaska Fish and Game.

Pinckney says the time line for the final draft has slowed.  He says the overriding theme of the public scoping, completed last year, was that people wanted a questionnaire that would address the myriad of issues concerning the management area and the lakes.

Residents have until September 13th to complete the questionnaire.  The planning team will pull all the data together through the winter. A public review draft is scheduled to be printed in the spring.
