Nelson found guilty for Trapper Creek shootings

A man accused of shooting and killing a Trapper Creek man, and shooting and injuring the man’s wife has been found guilty and sentenced this week.

A man accused of shooting and killing a Trapper Creek man, and shooting and injuring the man’s wife has been found guilty and sentenced this week.

Jeremy Christopher Nelson, who prosecutors say fatally shot Bob Carey, and wounded Verna Carey at their home in January, 2011, was sentenced to 99 years in prison.

According tot he Mat Su Frontiersman, Nelson maintains his innocence, but prosecutors provided evidence of Nelson approaching the Carey’s home on snowshoes, equipped with two weapons. Nelson unplugged the Carey’s generator, luring them from their house.
