The trial of Jeremy Christopher Nelson, of Trapper Creek, has been delayed until the end of October. The trial was set for August 1st but has been continued.
Nelson is accused of killing Trapper Creek resident Robert Carey and then shooting and severely injuring Carey’s wife Verna in January of 2010.He currently faces a Murder 1 charge, attempted murder and an assault charge. He entered a not-guilty plea after his arrest. He is incarcerated at Mat Su pretrial on a $750,000 cash bond and third party custodian requirement. The trial is currently set for October 28th in Judge Greg Heath’s courtroom in Palmer.
