No ashfall in Talkeetna

10:00 a.m. The results of the Mt Redoubt eruption are less than originally anticipated in the Upper Susitna area.  No ashfall to speak of has fallen in Talkeetna or Trapper Creek.  However, reports from the Tokositna area indicate the strong winds blowing very early this morning have created accumulated ashfall in that area.  Its not necessarily measurable, but remote cabin owners report that ash has covered the snow cover.

Ashfall started in Skwentna around 2:30 this morning.  A little Ash began falling in Talkeetna and Trapper Creek around 4:00 a.m.  Reports from Trapper Creek are a very light fine dusting.  Residents near the Forks Roadhouse on Petersville Road report about 1/8″ of ash.

The Parks Highway is in good condition.  No ashfall has been reported in Wasilla or Palmer.  Very little ash has fallen in Anchorage.

There are reports of some ash along the Tokositna and a dusting in Skwentna. Luce’s reports no ash and no ash along Lake Creek.
