Talkeetna Art Walk – Denali Arts Council
The Talkeetna Art Walk is Friday, January 31st from 3pm to 6pm. There are multiple participating businesses featuring local artists. This free, family friendly event will have you enjoying beautiful art, interactive art installations and games, hot beverages and light snacks. Art walk passports are available for pickup on Friday, January 31st at the Flying Squirrel Bakery and Cafe and the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar. Passports can be turned in at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar between 5pm and 7pm that day to be entered into a drawing.

Sheldon Community Arts HangarOn Saturday, March 22nd, Denali Arts Council presents Unit Souzou with their production Constant State of Otherness. Unit Souzou will have an open workshop beginning at 3pm on Sunday, March 23rd with an interactive drumming demonstration followed by a Q&A.
Jazz Workshop – Denali Arts Council
Sheldon Community Arts HangarDenali Arts Council is hosting a Jazz Workshop with Maestro Rocco John Iacovone at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar. This is an opportunity for anyone who loves playing music to learn to listen, respond, and collaborate with other jazz players. This two week workshop will meet June 23, 24, 26, 30, July 2 and 3, from 5-7pm. There will be a performance on Saturday, July 5 at 7:00pm. Registration is available on denaliartscouncil.org. High Step Society – Denali Arts Council
Sheldon Community Arts HangarDenali Arts Council is hosting the band High Step Society for an indoor/outdoor show at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar on Thursday, July 24th, with music beginning at 7:00pm. Auditions for a musical comedy show- Denali Arts Council
Sheldon Community Arts HangarDenali Arts Council is holding open auditions for a musical comedy show called the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee on August 18th at 7pm at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar. Be prepared by knowing your vocal range, prepared to sing at least 10-12 bars of any song, to do a bit of dramatic reading or improv. Must be available to rehearse during September & October. Sheldon Community Arts HangarOn Saturday, October 4th, Denali Arts Council hosts Arctic Entries at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar. Local storytellers will tell their true stories of small town secrets: Stories of Ghosts, Gatherings, and Good Times. The doors at 6:30pm, and the show at 7pm.
Take Back the Town Party – Denali Arts Council
Sheldon Community Arts HangarSaturday, October 11th is Denali Arts Council’s Take Back the Town party and annual meeting. This year's event is an autumn themed masquerade ball. The membership meeting, dinner, and elections start at 5:30pm. Attendees can vote on board members and renew their memberships. Following the meeting, the doors open to the public for the Denali Cooks and Friends at 7pm.
Arctic Entries storytellers needed
Denali Arts Council is looking for storytellers for the January and April Arctic Entries shows. January's theme is Going Once, Going Twice: Stories of putting yourself on the line, unexpected wins, and near misses. Youth song lyrics writing competition
Denali Arts Council is hosting a youth song lyrics writing competition. Competitors must be under 18 and use the prompt: Pumpkin Pancakes. The winning song will be performed live at the Parlor in the Round performance and the songwriter will receive a scholarship. The submission deadline is November 1st.
