Denali Education Center open positions
Denali Education Center is hiring for three local seasonal positions:
- Youth Field Educator, focused on leading youth programs in Talkeetna, with the opportunity to lead camping trips in the Denali region
- Talkeetna Educator, focused on the planning, preparation, and delivery of Talkeetna’s suite of youth and adult programming
- Instructor-in-Training, an opportunity for 16 to 21-year-olds to get hands-on experience leading youth programming in Talkeetna

Earth Day Celebration – Denali Education Center
Denali Education Center, Talkeetna Campus 22510 S Talkeetna Spur Rd, Talkeetna, AK, United StatesDenali Education Center hosts their annual Earth Day Celebration with a non-profit and civic engagement fair on April 19th from 11am until 3pm. This event includes kids activities, a PTA Bake Sale, food, and more. Learn more on their Facebook Event Page.
Also at Earth Day there will be Electronic Waste Collection. Computers, phones, TVs and similar will be accepted as well as small appliances, cords and cables, fluorescent bulbs, and standard household alkaline batteries. Please do NOT bring lithium, nickel, rechargeable, or lead acid batteries, ballasts, large appliances, or anything with liquid in it.

Only a Visitor: Tourism and Home from Svalbard and Denali presentation – Denali Education Center

Erica will share writing and reflections on tourism, sustainability, and belonging—drawing from twenty years of living at Denali National Park and an artist residency sailing in the High Arctic. This presentation is on Thursday, September 18th at the Susitna Hall in Talkeetna, beginning at 7pm.

She will be presenting two of her books: Lookout - her first novel, and Dirt Work: An Education in the Woods - a finalist for a Willa Award in nonfiction. Books will be available for purchase, and a portion of sales will go to disaster relief in Western Alaska.
