Earth Day Celebration – Denali Education Center
Denali Education Center, Talkeetna Campus 22510 S Talkeetna Spur Rd, Talkeetna, AK, United StatesDenali Education Center hosts their annual Earth Day Celebration with a non-profit and civic engagement fair on April 19th from 11am until 3pm. This event includes kids activities, a PTA Bake Sale, food, and more. Learn more on their Facebook Event Page.
Also at Earth Day there will be Electronic Waste Collection. Computers, phones, TVs and similar will be accepted as well as small appliances, cords and cables, fluorescent bulbs, and standard household alkaline batteries. Please do NOT bring lithium, nickel, rechargeable, or lead acid batteries, ballasts, large appliances, or anything with liquid in it.

The Jessica Stevens Community Foundation’s Healthy Communities Grant Cycle is open through 5:00pm Sunday, June 15th. This year the total available is $23,600. Sheldon Community Arts HangarThe Jessica Stevens Community Foundation is hosting a community dance party on Friday, October 3rd. All are invited to a concert featuring the ska band Nervis Rex at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar. The doors open at 7:15 and the music starts at 7:30pm.
JSCF Student-Led Grant Cycle
The Jessica Stevens Community Foundation is accepting grant applications from local nonprofits for projects that benefit families and children. This grant cycle is managed and reviewed by local high school students. They are accepting applications for projects that range between $100 and $5000 with a total of $5000 to award among the applicants. The grant application period closes Monday, November 17th.
