A plane crash Sunday night has left a Palmer man with “serious” injuries, according to the Alaska State Troopers. Troopers received a call at about 8:45 p.m. Sunday stating that 54-year-old David L. Meyers of Palmer had been involved in a plane crash at the Talkeetna airport. Troopers and local rescue personnel responded to the scene, where they found Meyers and the Citabria Champion he was piloting in the trees.

Troopers say Meyers was conscious and alert, but had significant injuries. Rescuers were able to remove him from the plane, and he was taken by Lifemed helicopter to Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, where he is listed in serious condition.
