Two people are dead after a head-on collision on the Parks Highway Wednesday afternoon.
According to Alaska State Troopers, a Honda Pilot and a Chevrolet pickup collided near Mile 59 of the highway shortly after 5:30 pm. Both drivers were declared deceased at the scene of the crash. Neither vehicle was carrying additional passengers. The driver of the Honda Pilot has been identified as 53-year-old Melissa Keown of Willow. The driver of the pickup has been identified as 71-year-old Michael Vial of Willow. Next of kin of both drivers have been notified of their passing.
Troopers say both drivers were wearing their seatbelts.
