Ronald D. Gunter, 61 of Talkeetna was killed after a fight led to a shooting on Sunday night. Alaska State Troopers responded to reports of a shooting on South Susitna Drive near mile 91 of the Parks Highway at a little before 9 pm Sunday night. Investigation by State Troopers and the Alaska Bureau of Investigation determined two adult males were involved in a physical altercation at the residence. During the altercation, one of the men produced a small caliber pistol and fired a single shot in an apparent attempt to stop the assault, striking Gunter in the head and killing him. No arrest has been made, and the circumstances of the event are still under investigation.
