Playwright John Pielmiere was a theology student when he wrote a complex and meaty play called “Agnes of God.” Denali Drama’s production of Agnes of God opened last week at the Birch Creek Center. The play asks serious questions as its characters, portrayed by Amanda Randles, Sondra Loomis, and Gina Randles, explore the deepest levels of morality, miracles and faith
Amanda Randles says the play has offered the performers interesting challenges and opportunities to explore and examine the sometimes controversial, sometimes innumerable shades of gray between right and wrong.

The play opened last week after months of rehearsals and preparations. Because of the serious subject matter, the three actors gave themselves plenty of time to really evolve with the script.

After the opening weekend, Randles says the audience came prepared for a compelling, if controversial drama, and has responded enthusiastically.
