As primary election results began coming in Tuesday evening, multiple races came in with fairly lopsided results.

In the Republican primary for Governor, Mike Dunleavy jumped out to a commanding lead with sixty-one percent of the vote with about a third of the votes counted. Mead Treadwell was in a distant second with thirty-two percent of the tally.

In the Democratic primary for U.S. House, Alyse Galvin also took an early advantage, leading Dimitri Shein by thirty points.

In local races, incumbent Senator Mike Shower held a two-to-one advantage over Mat-Su Borough Assembly Member Randall Kowalke with sixty-three percent of precincts reporting.

The final local race is to determine who will face off against Representative David Eastman for House District 10 in November. That race was running very close Tuesday night. Patricia Faye-Brazel held a narrow lead over Neal Lacy as of Tuesday night.
