The proposed Susitna River hydro project is being touted by Fairbanks Senator Joe Thomas (D) as the way that Alaska can meet its energy needs. A report by Alaska Energy Authority is due out in December on integrated regional resource plan for the Railbelt. The $2.5 million study on Susitna hydro is due to the legislature in the spring of 2010.
