OF
TIMBER SALES
Copies of the DNR-Division of Forestry (DOF) 2011-2015 Five-Year Schedule of Timber Sales for the Coastal Region’s Mat-Su Area and Kenai / Kodiak Area are available for public review. This document is a scoping document that outlines the proposed timber sale activity to be undertaken on State land over the next five years. This document is not a decision document.
The public is invited to comment on any aspect of the Five-Year Schedule of Timber Sales. Comments concerning the proposed timber sale areas need to be received no later than close of business on July 15, 2011. This document can be reviewed at the DOF offices in Soldotna and Palmer. The document may be found on the web at: http://www.dnr.state.ak.us/forestry/timber/fiveyearschedules.htm.
After public comment has been received and reviewed, DOF will proceed with planning the proposed timber sales and associated development. When each sale is prepared and ready for review, notice of a proposed decision and the opportunity for public comment will be given for that specific timber sale, as is required under State Statute and Regulation.
