There have been on going tremors and earthquakes with the rumblings. Monday morning the Alaska earthquake Information Center located a minor earthquake 51 miles southwest of Talkeetna and 9 miles southwest of Skwentna. The preliminary magnitude was 3.5.
The Alaska Volcano Observatory says occasional earthquakes have been occurring for the past week at one, to several, events per hour. Steam plumes rising to several feet above the crater have been photographed the past several days.
The Observatory continues to monitor the volcano. Its status is still ORANGE.
