The remains of a Northern Valley man missing since last March have been found near Caswell.
On May 31st, Alaska State Troopers responded to a report of human remains discovered near Hidden Hills Road. Troopers believed the remains were those of 54-year-old Charles Smith, who was reported missing in mid-March last year. The initial missing person report stated that Smith was last seen in February of 2019, and had left his cell phone at his home.
On June 6th, the State Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed the remains were those of Smith. Next of kin has been notified, and Troopers say no foul play is suspected at this time.
