The Mat-Su Borough Assembly decided to postpone the vote on a $47 million road bond package. Assembly members said they need more time to sort through the package that had very little public input from constituents. The road bond package contained language to provide $1 million for paving an access road between Beaver Road and Comsat Road. Assembly member Vern Halter told the assembly that the project has no support in the Talkeetna community and that Talkeetna would rather see B Street repaved. The bond package also contained improvements to Petersville Road. Further discussions on the road bond package were moved to a special meeting on August 12.
