Road Work Coming to Trapper Creek

At their meeting this week, the Mat-Su Borough Assembly approved nearly $197,000 for improvements to Oilwell Road and to repair East Devonshire Drive in Trapper Creek. Dirtworks is the contractor for both projects.

Five culverts along Oilwell Road from miles three through twelve will be replaced. Some of the culverts will require a materials lift of one or two feet to help with ongoing maintenance.

Located on the east side of the Parks Highway opposite the Library, Fire Station, and water point, East Devonshire Drive leads to a residential development. Borough Civil Project Manager Dustin Spidal says there is a soft spot in the road that seems to rut out. That area will be flattened and geotextile fabric will be laid with fill over top.

Vehicles will be limited to 20 miles per hour in the work zones. Hours of work are 7 am to 7 pm. The projects are expected to be completed by September 30th.
