Senator Lisa Murkowski to visit Talkeetna
U.S. Senator Lisa Murkowski is coming to Talkeetna on Thursday for a community meeting.
U.S. Senator Lisa Murkowski is coming to Talkeetna on Thursday for a community meeting. In a phone interview with KTNA, she said that her visit to Talkeetna is part of a community outreach tour that includes Big Lake, Willow and the Upper Susitna Senior Center. She is scheduled to visit the senior center at 4 p.m.
Senator Murkowski said that the Talkeetna community meeting is planned to be informal in nature. She plans to report briefly on what is happening in Washington D.C. and then open the floor to questions. The Senator said she would touch on issues relating to Park Service matters, tax reforms, energy issues and the disaster in the Gulf of Mexico. Other topics on her list include health care legislation, the financial regulatory reform and how this impacts financing on a local level.
After the meeting in Talkeetna, Murkowski is scheduled to move on to Wasilla.
The community meeting is going to take place on Thursday, June 3 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar.
