Also next Tuesday, the Mat-Su Borough Assembly will consider whether or not to move nearly $650,000 to a project to reconstruct the Shirley Towne Bridge in Willow.
The bridge was damaged in the flooding of September 2012, and has continued to suffer from erosion since then.
Discussion of repairing the bridge came to the forefront after ice jam flooding on Willow Creek cut off some residences last winter. Reconstructing the bridge is intended to allow a second way in and out should something similar occur again.
Money for the reconstruction would come from the funds for road improvement projects and major repairs to roads and railway crossings.
