Snowmachiners rescued from Sunshine Mountain
A search and rescue mission had a good ending when Talkeetna troopers successfully found three lost snowmachiners from Houston who were out riding their machines east of Yoder Road.
A search and rescue mission had a good ending when Talkeetna troopers successfully found three lost snowmachiners from Houston who were out riding their machines east of Yoder Road.Yesterday around 5:30 pm the snowmachiners called the troopers, saying that they were lost and that they started to get cold. Talkeetna wildlife trooper Dan Valentine and a team of two volunteers went out to look for David Smith, age 36, James Blanchard, age 43, and Eugene Yancey, age 39, all from Houston.
They found them around 9:30 at night on Sunshine Mountain. The three snowmachiners were unharmed and were escorted back to their vehicle.
