Alaska State Troopers are looking for a stolen vehicle in the Talkeetna area that may have played a part in an attempted home break-in. Troopers responded to a call on Monday morning at 10:15 a.m. when neighbors observed a young male between 20 and 30 years old trying to break into a house on C Street in downtown Talkeetna. Troopers say the burglar got disturbed somehow and fled the scene in a red 1997 GMC Suburban. When the troopers arrived on C Street, the suspect was gone and made his escape down to the river bed. Subsequent searches by the Troopers all across Talkeetna were unsuccessful. Troopers are asking the public to keep an eye out for the red Suburban with the license plate number FJK- 2897. It has dark tainted windows and surfer decals on the rear window that might be broken. The vehicle has been stolen in Fairbanks. If somebody saw the car, please call 911 or the trooper’s office at 733-2256.
