On this episode we are first joined by Lesley Norris and Marcia vonEhr of the Matanuska Susitna Borough’s Budget and Revenue Department. They walk us through the history and function of three Borough taxes: property tax, Talkeetna Area 36 sales tax and the transient accommodation (bed) tax.
In the second portion of the show community member Jodi Rodwell joins host Trisha Costello for a chatty conversation about what sometimes feels like a ‘community’ tax: the memberships and donations to area non profits. It is these self-directed investments that enable organizations to create the livable community we all enjoy.
