Sunshine Clinic Will Use Temporary Providers to Cover Provider Gaps
With the resignation of Physician’s Assistant Keith Kehoe and Nurse Practitioner Dianne Maythorne, as well as the upcoming maternity leave of Dr. Joan Friderici, some area residents have expressed concern
With the resignation of Physician’s Assistant Keith Kehoe and Nurse Practitioner Dianne Maythorne, as well as the upcoming maternity leave of Dr. Joan Friderici, some area residents have expressed concern that they may not be able to be seen at the Sunshine and Willow offices of the Sunshine Community Health Center. In fact, some have said that they are already having difficulty getting appointment times.
David Bryant, Executive Director for SCHC says that there is a plan to make sure qualified providers are available for patients. He says that a temporary provider will be at the Willow clinic starting near the beginning of October, and will fill the vacancy there until a permanent hire can be made. Bryant estimates that process should be concluded within about three weeks, at which time the temporary provider would move to the Sunshine location to provide coverage through the end of January while Dr. Friderici is on leave.
Bryant says that the SCHC hopes to hire a permanent provider for the Sunshine clinic before October 31st, which is when Keith Kehoe’s resignation takes effect. In the event a permanent provider cannot be hired by then, there is a backup plan to bring in another temporary provider so that patients can continue to be seen.
