The MatSu Borough BLM has posted a review and comment period for a proposal to classify 80 acres of borough owned land as ‘Public Recreation Land’. The parcel is north of the Parks Highway near Sunshine Creek and is currently considered not classified.
At this time, portions of the land are used for access to Sunshine Creek and camping. Reclassification as “Public Recreation Land” allows the Borough to create a master plan to develop, manage and maintain the area.
Further informational materials may be obtained from the MatSu Borough Land and Resource Management Division. Comments concerning the proposal may be sent to the borough offices no later than July 20th.
