Susitna Community Council Accepting Applications for CAP Funds

The application period for additional CAP funds from the Susitna Community Council is open until June 5th.

The Council encourages any community non-profit organization to apply for the program. Approximately $15,000 of additional funds were given to the community councils this fiscal year.

The Community Assistance Program, or CAP, is a Mat-Su Borough grant program that provides funding each year to unincorporated communities through the councils. The councils provide the funds to non-profit organizations that will use the money to directly benefit the community.

Randall Sparks, Chair of the Susitna Community Council, says that previous recipients have included Meals on Wheels, the Upper Susitna Food Bank, Sunshine Transit, and others. Sparks says the Council would like to see other groups apply as well so they might fund additional community efforts.

Organizations can apply using the application on the Susitna Community Council’s website, susitnacc.org. The application period ends June 5th.
