A Talkeetna resident has been selected as a finalist for a $10,000 Adventure Grant offered by Outside Magazine to drive around Thailand in a tuk-tuk, a small three-wheeled taxi vehicle.
A Talkeetna resident has been selected as a finalist for a $10,000 Adventure Grant offered by Outside Magazine to drive around Thailand in a tuk-tuk, a small three-wheeled taxi vehicle.
Chase Berenson, of Talkeetna and Girdwood, along with his girlfriend Charla Hughes, of Tallahassee, Florida, have been selected as finalists based on an essay and two-minute-long video they submitted. Berenson says the couple dreamed up the idea of touring the country in a Tuk Tuk as a way to more fully engage in adventure.

Berenson and Hughes made a video entry for the contest while the pair were traveling in South Asia. Berenson says it all came together in an unlikely way:

Their video pitch is up for vote on Outside Magazine’s Facebook page until June 17th.
