Talkeetna Sewer and Water job still open

The search for a replacement for Chuck Jacobs, the Borough’s Upper Valley maintenance technician and Talkeetna Sewer and Water official is still on going.

Chuck Braun, Borough manager for operations and maintenance said that they had someone hired last month who declined at the last moment.

He re-released the job announcement and has just received a new stack of applicants from Human Resources.

Jacobs worked part time in Talkeetna and was the go-to man for anything dealing with Talkeetna’s sewer and water system.  He also worked part time in the Upper Valley on any Borough facility maintenance.  He left for a full time position and pay increase in Homer.

The position has been open since mid May.  All applicants needed to have a current wastewater treatment plant operator certificate.

Braun says he will be spending the next few days going through the new applications and holding interviews.  The new hire will be required to live within at least a  30 minute response time of downtown Talkeetna.
