Thank You, Diana

Today, KTNA says goodbye and wishes good luck to reporter Diana Haecker. In the past eighteen months, Diana has left an indelible mark on KTNA’s staff, listeners, and website visitors. Her passion for journalism, accuracy, photography, and a job well done will be hard to replace. Diana and her family have decided to return to Nome, where they lived for 6 years prior to moving to Sunshine.

Next week, Diana’s husband Nils will run their dog team in the Fur Rendezvous World Championship Sled Dog Races, after which, Diana will head to Nome to cover the Iditarod for the Nome Nugget and APRN. Nils and their daughter will stay in the Northern Susitna Valley through the end of the school year while Diana travels back and forth. In May, Diana and Nils will pack their family, thirty teammates, and a horse for a permanent trip home. She will be missed by many friends, a large dog mushing community, shutterbugs, anyone with an interest in local news, and the staff, volunteers, and board of directors at KTNA.

Today we say goodbye, good luck, focus, shoot, and don’t forget to write. Our loss is Nome’s gain. Thank you, Diana. Happy travels.
