A 15 minute live conversation about health and health news from the Sunshine Community Health Center: It’s hosted by Holly Stinson, with this Friday’s in-studio guest Keith Kehoe, Physician’s Assistant at the clinic. Keith and Holly talk about the new addition to Sunshine Transit’s schedule: a trip to Wasilla every weekday, and the users’ nickname for the transit vehicles: the “town car”. Keith mentions a free dental cleaning at the Clinic on March 17 and 18 for clients with no dental insurance, the “virtual dementia tour” at the Talkeetna Library on February 27th to help people understand dementia better, and a conference on February 20th in Anchorage for people with diabetes. Sunshine Transit will be taking local people who have diabetes to the conference, which they’ll be able to attend at a greatly reduced price. Keith says that diabetes, in all its complexity, is much better treated if people understand the disease. For more information on any of these topics, call the clinic at 733-2273.
