A Willow man is in custody on for multiple assault charges and failing to register as a sex offender.
Alaska State Troopers responded to a call early Saturday morning where a woman could be heard screaming for help. Troopers arrived at a residence on Long Lake Road in Willow and saw 41-year-old Timothy Urovak holding a knife while standing over a woman and threatening to kill her.
Troopers were able to disarm Urovak without incident and say he strangled and assaulted the woman in addition to threatening to stab her. In addition to charges of Assault in the Second, Third, and Fourth Degree, Urovak is charged with not registering as a sex offender following a conviction of sexual abuse of a minor.
Urovak had multiple warrants for his arrest for parole and probation violations, and was taken to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility where he is being held without bail.
