Troopers find that bone found in Talkeetna was not human

Last week, an individual that had been fishing in the Talkeetna area turned in a bone his dog had found along the river to  Fairbanks area Troopers.  He believed the bone to be a human femur. The bone was turned over to the state medical examiners office.  That office studied the bone to determine the type and if identification was necessary.

The state medical examiner contacted Troopers and concluded that the bone was not a bone from a human.  The investigation into the matter is closed.
