The Alaska State Troopers are investigating the death of a Willow woman whose remains were found near Petersville Road.

Troopers say began looking for 56-year-old Hattie Labuff-Kilgo on Monday after she failed to show up to her job. Labuff-Kilgo was not at her home in Willow, and troopers learned she had traveled to Petersville over the weekend.

Labuff-Kilgo’s truck was found on Petersville Road thirty-five miles from the Parks Highway. Search and rescue teams responded to the area to search for her and found her remains about three miles from the truck shortly after noon on Tuesday.

Hattie Labuff-Kilgo’s remains have been sent to the state medical examiner’s office for autopsy, and her next of kin has been notified. The investigation is ongoing.
