Troopers have been searching for a 47 year old man from Wasilla that went missing near Petersville.
On July 15th, Troopers were notified that a red and white GMC pickup was stuck in the mud on a trail in the vicinity of Dollar Creek. John Gamble’s personal items were found in the truck and they identified the truck as belonging to Gamble.
K-9 search teams, MAT-SAR, Alaska State Park rangers and others have been involved in the search for the last 3 days. Trooper spokesperson Beth Ipsen said those searchers continued looking today (wed).
Gamble went to a mining camp near Cache Creek near Petersville with his friends in early July. His friends left on July 2nd and Gamble stayed behind. No one has reported seeing Gamble since that time. He was supposed to return to work on July 18th.
Gamble is cacausian, 6 foot 5 and 240 pounds. He has dark brown eyes and thinning hair.
