Troopers respond to multiple thefts in Willow

Alaska State Troopers responded to multiple reports of theft and burglary in Willow over the last week, including an incident where over $13,000 of property was stolen.

The largest theft came sometime between last Wednesday and Thursday morning at a residence near the Parks Highway south of Nancy Lake.  Troopers say the burglar unsuccessfully attempted to break down a door, causing an additional $400 in damage.

The next burglary report came on Sunday.  In that incident, Troopers say someone cut chains and locks to get into a connex and RV.  In that incident, a large set of swamp tires and various tools were taken.

On Tuesday afternoon, Troopers responded to a report of a stolen vehicle on Stinson Road in Willow.  Troopers say the missing vehicle is a purple and gray 1994 Chevy Camaro.

Also on Tuesday, Troopers took a report of fuel stolen from a plane at Willow airport sometime in the previous two days.

Troopers ask that anyone with information on the thefts call dispatch at 352-5401 or Mat-Su CrimeStoppers at 745-3333.
