Troopers search for missing man
UPDATED, Fri. 2:50 p.m.: Alaska State Troopers are searching for a missing man at Bud Lake, west of Caswell and the Susitna River.
UPDATED, Fri. 2:50 p.m.: Alaska State Troopers are searching for a missing man at Bud Lake, west of Caswell and the Susitna River.According to troopers, Gary Swanson of Big Lake has walked away from a weekend cabin near Bud Lake on Thursday evening and has not returned. Troopers say that family members have searched the area before reporting 44-year old Swanson missing.
The troopers were notified on Friday morning and a trooper helicopter from Anchorage was dispatched to conduct an aerial search. Also, Trooper K-9 “Roelle” and two troopers are tracking Swanson on the ground.
Further details as to the circumstances of Swanson’s disappearance are unknown.
As of Friday afternoon, local search and rescue crew from Talkeetna are not involved.
