Two people were injured in a car crash south of Healy on the Parks Highway on Thursday night.
Two people were injured in a car crash south of Healy on the Parks Highway on Thursday night. A drunk driver with his two children in the vehicle was headed northbound and passed a series of vehicles. Troopers say the man, identified as Jay Hatch, age 34 of Anchorage, drove a 2006 Ford truck and hit a 1995 Taurus when the car took a left turn off the highway. The impact of the truck hitting the Taurus injured the car’s driver and the passenger, who had to be medivaced to Fairbanks with head trauma injuries. Troopers say Hatch was intoxicated and recklessly endangered his children. He is charged with driving under the influence, assault in the third degree, reckless endangerment and reckless driving.
