Two men charged in illegal bait station case

Charges have been filed against two men concerning an unregistered black bear station near Yoder Road in Talkeetna. Alaska Wildlife Troopers responded to a report of a lone black bear

Charges have been filed against two men concerning an unregistered black bear station near Yoder Road in Talkeetna.

Alaska Wildlife Troopers responded to a report of a lone black bear cub near Yoder Road.  Investigation led to the discovery of an unregistered bait station with a black bear and brown bear carcass.

Charges have been filed against Scott Minor, age 43, of Eagle River, and Yukon Grubaugh, age 45 of Anchorage and Talkeetna.  Minor was issued a court summons on the charges of taking a black bear over an unregistered bait station, possessing and transporting of an illegally taken black bear and providing a false statement on the sealing certificate.  Grubaugh is charged with assisting Minor on all those charges as well as taking a brown bear without the required tag and providing a false statement on the sealing certificate.
